Beauty & Home Obsessions

If you follow me on Snapchat you would have already seen these products featured as my current obsessions. These are some of the products I have been reaching for on a everyday basis and loving.

1. LA.Colours Lipliner in P152 Natural-This is such a beautiful mauve pink/plum shade that works so beautifully with peachy nude shades. My favourite combo right now is MAC Yash Lipstick with Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 700 Nude delight.

2. Black Opal total coverage concealing foundation in Nutmeg- This product is so pigmented and does such an amazing job at cancelling out those flaws, I love using this to further conceal my freckles around my nose and cheeks.

3. Laura Mercier loose setting powder (Translucent)- Hands down this has to be the most exciting part of my makeup routine, this powder is amazing and has been blowing up recently in the beauty industry, I love this product because it is not drying and is very finely milled so it is not cakey looking, it does leave a very natural looking highlight which I love but if I wanted to further highlight  for a more glam look I use both this and a small amount of ben nye powder for colour.

4. Mac Prep+Prime Highlighter pen in Peach lustre- I use this for my dark circles under my eyes from those late nights. This will cancel out any discolouration you might have on the skin. It is a easy to blend formula and very light weight. It will not alter the look of your foundation or concealer but helps to brighten those dark spots.

5. O.P.I Nail Polish in Dulce de leche- I loveeee this colour, it is the perfect nude pink for my skin tone and has been my pick for the last month.

6. Tesco Candle in Sweet Vanilla- I recently went to look for some mini candles I could use during the evenings for relaxing and saw this large pot of goodness, I am in love with this scent, it is sweet but a very light sweet scent so it is not too over powering, it is really effective and lasts a very long time. It was also cheaper than my usual Yankee candles at just £6 in the UK.

Quick review ~Rimmel Apocalips Lip laquer

I am really into glossy lips right now so I went digging through my gloss collection and found the Rimmel Apocalips lip laquers. I bought them a while ago but never really used them. They go on real smooth and are really pigmented. I love the shape of the applicator it allows you to be in control of the application a lot better, it is a little loose (they move around a lot) but nothing too bad. You will have to build up the product to get a glossy finish but overall it is a really nice product.  I love the red shade of all of them. I am wearing the shade Nova on the left and Big bang on the right. I also own Galaxy but I am not really a fan.  The only thing I really do not like is the smell, ugh! I really hate that old lipstick smell and this is exactly what this smells like to me. other than that,  I like.  I bought mine from Superdrug for 6.99 each (I think).

MOTD~ Blue hues

Hey Guys,
If you have been following me for a while you know I never wear bold colours unless it is on my lips but I was feeling a little daring today so I created this Blue Smokey eye. I did not want to do the usual bold colour/black Smokey eye so I added purple to deepen my crease and some reddish browns to warm it up. All products are listed below

PICK 'n' MIX~ Foundation

Achieve Glowing Skin

I have been really into 'Skin' lately, trying to perfect my skills with making foundations look effortless and flawless. I wanted to practice achieving a flawless luminous look even with oily skin. I didn't want to spend money on any foundations that were specifically guided to creating a luminous glowing look because I am oily already, so then I started playing around with different combinations of moisturisers, fixers and foundations in aims of "faking" a luminous look.

I chose some of my favourite Foundations and started mixing...

Foundations:

MAC Studio Sculpt
Estee Lauder Double wear
MAC Studio Fix Fluid

Fixers/ Moisturisers/Illuminators:

MAC Strobe Cream (Forgot to get a picture)
MAC Fix+
Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer

1st Combination- MAC Strobe Cream + MAC Studio Sculpt + Studio Fix Fluid+Fix+

2nd Combination- Estee lauder Double Wear + Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer + MAC Fix+

With both combinations I mixed equal parts of each foundation and used as little or as much of the Fluid sheer/ Strobe cream as  I needed, This is depending on how much of a glow you want to achieve and I personally was looking for something a little more natural. I would usually apply the Strobe cream directly to my face before adding a primer which I only apply to my nose and forehead. With the Fluid sheer I would mix this with my foundation on a mixing plate or on the back of hand, this allows me to get the product evenly distributed on my face, then I would spray my face with Fix+ twice, once after applying my foundation and then once after applying powders.

Either way I was going with these products they made me look like I was glowing and that is what I wanted, it did not make me look greasy and I did not have to do extra blotting through the day, nothing more than I usually do. I am really obsessing over this new routine and will be trying it with other foundations I have not featured yet.

Check out my post on my favourite Highlighting products to further perfect the glow
